Lake Winnipesaukee has about 288 miles of shoreline. Nearly all of the mainland shoreline is lined with homes, condos, hotels, bed and breakfasts, and many other types of commercial enterprises suchs as restaurants and marinas. The islands are inhabited as well.
Recreation
Lake Winnipesaukee is an incredible place for recreation. Summer activites include boating, fishing, swimming and many other relaxing passtimes.

One of the fun features of Lake Winnipesaukee ist that there are many towns and cities to visit by boat. These include:

- Center Harbor

- Tuftonboro
- Wolfeboro
Incidentally, as you enter Wolfeboro by road, you will see signs that say that Wolfeboro is the "oldest summer resort in America." Cool.
